Decided to re-explore these past Vintage Cover Reimagined prompts in my style. The first one was a Little Golden Book called “The Road to Oz” and the second is “Peter Pan” adapted by Pheobe Wilson, originally illustrated by Ruth Wood.

This little piggy is almost here! The fourth ITS NOT fairytale book, written by Josh Funk and illustrated by myself premieres November 1st, 2022. So be sure to get your copy online or at your local bookstore.
In this book, we’re not introduced to three, but four piglets. The fourth fights for control of her siblings’ fates against the narrator. Who will win? What happens with their houses? Who wants to be a pumpkin? All will be revealed in this book!

Ho Ho Moooooooo. . .erry early Christmas! lol “Hey! You’re NOT Santa!” (Scholastic) by Ethan T Berlin and illustrated by myself will debut on September 7th, 2021. Be sure to preorder at your local bookstore or online. Its a cute and quirky story about a cow that stalls for Santa. So get your milk and cookies ready, hang those stockings, cause you never know, you may have a cow filling in for Santa this year!
The 🐷🐷🐷 are out of the bag! It was announced this week @joshfunkbooks and my fourth book together “It’s Not The Three Little Pigs”. These three have made appearances in the previous three “It’s Not” books. So I’m excited for you all to get to meet these silly characters (and others, ahem.). So keep an eye out for further announcements! It’ll be out Fall 2022!

Josh Funk and my third book was announced today! “It’s Not Little Red Riding Hood” will make her debut in 2020! Super excited to see her in the spot light.

Glad to be back at doing the weekly prompts for Animal Alphabets. This round we have been focusing on Monsters from movies or books. So A was Audrey II from the “Little Shop of Horrors”, B is for “Babadook”, C for “Creature from the Black Lagoon”, D for Demogorgon from “Stranger Things”, E for “Edward Scissorhands”, and F for “The Fly”.

When I was a little, I remember watching the “Really Rosie” animation tv special which had stories by Maurice Sendak and songs sung by Carol King. I loved it so much that I sought other books by Maurice Sendak in the library. One of Maurice’s books in particular has always been a favorite of mine, which was “Pierre A Cautionary Tale in Five Chapters and Prologue”. So I chose the moment where Pierre puts himself in the Lion’s mouth to eat him. This was for my agents for November Picture Book Month.
“It’s Not Jack and the Beanstalk” is out now!!! Written by Josh Funk and illustrated by yours truly. One of my favorite spreads from the book was the title page. I wanted to establish right from the beginning Jack and Bessie’s friendship and to show them in a moment together before the story began. If you look really closely, you can see the silhouette of the Giant’s castle in the cloud shadows created by the moonlight. Also, there is a hidden fairy tale character in this spread. Probably the hardest one to find.
If you have not already purchased “It’s Not Jack and the Beanstalk”, its available now at your local bookstore. Or you can purchase it on Amazon at this link http://a.co/fFFuB3d

And because “It’s Not Jack and the Beanstalk” was so well received before it debut . . .
