Here are the first weeks’ submissions for Inktober. I really dont use ink too much, so I figured it would be a good exercise. Hope you enjoy 🙂

My first Cup O Doodle Character Illustration

This was a good exercise in finding the character in an abstract shape. I really didn’t want the character to be obvious, so I really had to take a moment and find the character through her pose instead of using it as either the overall shape or as facial features. Hope you enjoy it 🙂

My Second and Third Assignments
My first assignment for Design for Production.
Assignment 7: An Animal Character Design

Here was my assignment from last week. It was to design an animal character. After careful decisions design wise I chose the Raccoon Dog. I felt it gave me the most options when it came to creating a graphic styled character that still felt like it was designed by me. My instructor loved it! He didn’t give me any critiques to improve it, so that’s awesome. Thanks everyone for the ideas There were other animals that once the class is over I might explore further.
Assignment 6 Being able to Mimic Another Artists Style
For this weeks assignment we had to design a dragon character based off the style of Ronald Searle and Jay Ward. They are two extremely different artists when figuring out characteristics of their work. My instructor gave me some really good feedback so I’ll be going back into these and updating them per his suggestions. Only two more weeks to go!
