TEZSPire Commercial (ATKPLN)

Last Fall I got to do some character designs for a commercial with ATKPLN. I’ve worked with them on a few other commercials before. This one was the first time I explored a whole lineup of characters in 3 different styles before settling on the one that we used for the commercial. Here’s a link to ATKPLN’s website: https://www.atkpln.com/work/be-you?fbclid=IwAR05KaT559ADA4UQa3PfLnajGw7hKYb-EuSwvPit4pPjVucKk5BtcdeXWts

First personal art of 2022

Hi Everyone. I know I’ve been MIA for awhile. Been busy with work, freelance, and a children’s book that I’m close to wrapping up. Been dying to work on something for myself so I decided why not go back to my 90s X-Men lineup and do a fan art piece for my favorite X-Men character, Storm.

November is Picture Book Month

EdwardianTaylor_Pierre_MauriceSendak_NovPicBookMonth

When I was a little, I remember watching the “Really Rosie” animation tv special which had stories by Maurice Sendak and songs sung by Carol King. I loved it so much that I sought other books by Maurice Sendak in the library. One of Maurice’s books in particular has always been a favorite of mine, which was “Pierre A Cautionary Tale in Five Chapters and Prologue”. So I chose the moment where Pierre puts himself in the Lion’s mouth to eat him. This was for my agents for November Picture Book Month.

“It’s Not Jack and the Beanstalk” One of my Favorite Pages.

“It’s Not Jack and the Beanstalk” is out now!!!  Written by Josh Funk and illustrated by yours truly.  One of my favorite spreads from the book was the title page. I wanted to establish right from the beginning Jack and Bessie’s friendship and to show them in a moment together before the story began. If you look really closely, you can see the silhouette of the Giant’s castle in the cloud shadows created by the moonlight. Also, there is a hidden fairy tale character in this spread. Probably the hardest one to find.

If you have not already purchased “It’s Not Jack and the Beanstalk”, its available now at your local bookstore.  Or you can purchase it on Amazon at this link  http://a.co/fFFuB3d

And because “It’s Not Jack and the Beanstalk” was so well received before it debut . . .
