comic book character
Wow I’ve been gone for awhile :D Hi Guys!
So I knew that this semester was gong to be busy. Working my day job, then teaching my two classes during the evening, then running my “Cauldron Bubbles” animated short during all my free time. Not to mention the hours of grading, and preparing for my lectures and communicating with my animation team.
But I’m going to try to be sure I post any work, even as loose as it might be, on my blog. So here were a few sketches from the last two days. Since I’ve been planning on autoCAD, I sometimes need to take a break from looking at my monitor. These are some results.
I signed up for my very first character design class that starts in April. I’m so excited. Since I’ve been teaching myself primarily through looking at other artists’ work and any tutorials they may have, I look forward to someone actually critiquing my work and giving me one on one advice. The goal again is to have pieces to put in my portfolio so that I can potential seek out employment as an artist in the game or animation field.
I’ll be keeping you guys posted. Thanks for your interest and support. It means a lot when people enjoy what I do.
Cheers!

Donatello Quick Sketch
Growing up in the 90s, I collected everything Ninja Turtles. Today I still have all my action figures stored away in a trunk in my attic. Yesterday, a quick thumbnail sketch of my version of Donatello while sitting at my desk at work. Sitting at my computer at home, I scanned it in and before I knew it I had detailed out the sketch and I had colored him in. Its been some time since I’ve done any quick sketches, so here he is all fleshed out. I hope you enjoy 😉
