In this week’s assignment we had to have at least two characters that are interacting with each other in either a park bench or a bus stop. Naturally I had to add Death at the park lol Enjoy.

Hi everyone. Its been a long semester with lots continuing to happen. I’m currently taking a character design class (my first one ever) and I needed a warm up today so I made a new Starbucks lid character. I named him Frenchy since I was thinking of a french bulldog.
Enjoy 🙂
So I knew that this semester was gong to be busy. Working my day job, then teaching my two classes during the evening, then running my “Cauldron Bubbles” animated short during all my free time. Not to mention the hours of grading, and preparing for my lectures and communicating with my animation team.
But I’m going to try to be sure I post any work, even as loose as it might be, on my blog. So here were a few sketches from the last two days. Since I’ve been planning on autoCAD, I sometimes need to take a break from looking at my monitor. These are some results.
I signed up for my very first character design class that starts in April. I’m so excited. Since I’ve been teaching myself primarily through looking at other artists’ work and any tutorials they may have, I look forward to someone actually critiquing my work and giving me one on one advice. The goal again is to have pieces to put in my portfolio so that I can potential seek out employment as an artist in the game or animation field.
I’ll be keeping you guys posted. Thanks for your interest and support. It means a lot when people enjoy what I do.
Cheers!
Here is What I’ve Been Up Too . . . Finding Animators!
Thank you everyone that has been following my posts. Â It means a lot to me to know that there are people that are interesting in my work.
I’ve been so busy lately that it only seems like I can do a quick sketch here and there. Â I’ve been really wanting to work on something more polished, but working a full time job in the morning, teaching two nights a week, and working on a personal animated short has kept me pretty busy. Â But for those of you who dont know I’m currently directing an animated short called “Cauldron Bubbles”. Â Story and Concept was created as my Graduate Final Project.
If anyone knows of any animators with intermediate to advanced skill level please have them contact me. Â I have set a deadline to have all shots completed by the end of this Spring semester. Â My contact info is on the link to the page for the short.
Again thank you all for the kind words and encouragement 😉

Here is another quick sketch I did on a Starbucks lid. This has always been one of my childhood stories. I’ve played with the idea of making the other characters to put in my portfolio. Still having to make those decisions on what I want to work on for my 2013 portfolio. Hope you enjoy 🙂

Here are the last lids I created while visiting my parents for the holidays. Hope you enjoy these last ones for 2012.
