Another Spellbook Page “Pet Demons”

So here are some character sketches I made for my next Spellbook page “How to Care for Your Pet Demon”.  I came up with these three characters.  It started with Princess in the middle, Boris on the right, and Meatloaf on the left.  I’ll start fine tuning their drawings before going into coloring.  Hope you enjoy 😉Image

Another Misadventure with Samurai

So after the Spellbook page with the Ware wolf, I thought what if I kept with the monster theme like in the fishing adventure.  So I decided it would be good practice with fur and trying to create a moon image from scratch.  So here is “Howling at the Moon”  I did this on and off for the last two weeks while working and doing things for “Cauldron Bubbles”.  It was lots of fun, and I even had moments when I got to a specific point and Photoshop crashed.  I think with Spotify, Castleville, and me working on Photoshop, my computer couldn’t handle it all.  But I hope you enjoy the finished piece.

Here’s another one for you!

Well here is the next character sketch for my Spellbook.  It is titled “How to Capture a Mermaid”.  This one was interesting.  I was just doodling at work on a scrap piece of paper.  I was actually working on another idea I had for another “Misadventure” illustration when she appeared.  I first thought about one of my favorite Hollywood actresses Michelle Pfieffer when I started drawing out the face.  Then this pose started to look a bit vulnerable, and I decided it would be perfect for my mermaid concept for the Spellbook.  Voila!  I hope you enjoy it.  I’ll be posting my Werewolf concept for the other Spellbook page in a few days.

Spellbook resumes

I’m back at it again.

Since I’ve been so busy with my animation and doodling, Jamey told me one day that I really needed to get back to finishing up the spellbook.  During this time away from it, I’ve learned so much about using Photoshop for drawing, I’ve also started gathering more information from other illustrators about their work methods both digital and traditional.  I have so much admiration for those people and the quality of work that I strive to someday reach.  Such inspiration has allowed me to move further into completing the next 7-8 pages left in the book.  I’ve got quite a bit done, but I still have some ways to go.  So here is the latest one called “Medusa’s Stare of Stone”.  Hope you enjoy it.

The newest team member to “Cauldron Bubbles” Dionne Jones.  I’m very glad to have Dionne join our team.  Not only is she the character voice for Lucky the Cat and Lucky the Princess, but she is also helping our team with video editing.  Many of the animated playblasts we have completed have been put together with Dan’s 3D animatic and my 2D animatic.  This helps out in so many ways, such as being able to see transitions between shots, how animations are reading together, sound, and even music.  So with all our team members I created an avatar in the style of the characters.
